Principal consultant specializing in providing Information systems solutions to small and medium size private and public business organizations. Engaged and managed other consultants on retainer for various projects. Our work entailed meeting with clients, evaluating their systems needs and then providing custom designed networked solutions to meet these needs.

 

• Set up and managed servers and networks, including fiber optic links, at three local schools on two islands. Successfully connected them to the K-20 broadband infrastructure. Implemented campus wide file repositories, centralized backup of student and faculty files and maintained security and user login. Windows and Unix/Linux based network connectivity is the predominant infrastructure.

 

• Designed, built and deployed more than 200 servers and desktop computers at many private and public organizations.

 

• Local businesses retained me and my staff as independent consultants to assist them and their internal technical persons by providing support with installations, network administration, hardware and software maintenance, updating security, software patches and more.

 

• Assisted the local library in deploying their web site; designed, developed and maintained a local power utility’s web site. We also host and provide technical assistance to organizations’ web sites and mail servers.

 

• Upgraded and maintained the infrastructure of many local organizations including the local library, real-estate offices, hardware store and more.

 

• Electrical Contractor in WA, specializing in commercial voice and data cabling, testing and certification.

 

• Worked as lead consultant in assisting the local power company in installing a fiber optic backbone, throughout the San Juan Islands, to provide broadband access to the power company’s sub-stations, local government agencies and local broadband and voice resellers. Provided the power company management with technical analysis, costs breakdown, fee recovery plan and accounting system integration.
